When most people think of starting a career in medicine, they think of spending four
years earning their undergraduate degree, and then another four years in medical

The training programs for certified nursing assistants are often quick and intensive.
If you prefer to stretch out the training as a part time student, while working at a job
at the same time, you have that option. But if you are unemployed or would like to
complete the training as fast as possible, you may be able to become certified within
one year. Most students complete the programs within two years, even as part time
students.
The training program will include topics from medical terminology and proper
medical filing to hands on experience caring for disabled or aging patients. You will
learn the basics of emergency medical care as well as how to properly administer
medications and record your activities.

Once you have a certification in a medical field, your chances of succeeding in
further studies increase dramatically. Becoming a certified nursing assistant
involves studying anatomy and medical procedures and terminology in a way that
you cannot do without going to school. Once you have your foot in the door, you will

you want to.
